Michael began his career in the CPG industry in 1980 with a prominent DSD beverage distributor in the NY Metro area. Over 16 years, he progressed from salesperson to VP of Sales, where he fueled brand success through hands-on experience. Notable brands he helped launch include Evian, Smart Water, Clearly Canadian, Dirty Potato Chips, and Pirates Booty. In 1997, Michael was recruited by Doug Levin, founder of Fresh Samantha, where he significantly increased sales from $0 to $23 million in just three years. He managed over 25 driver/sales routes in the NY Metro Area and was promoted to National Accounts Manager. After Fresh Samantha’s acquisition by Odwalla in 2000, he became Regional Sales Manager at Saratoga Brands, growing a diverse portfolio that included Naked Juice and Zeigler’s Apple Cider. In 2001, Michael co-founded Primal Spirit Foods, a pioneer in meatless jerky, and started Michael Hoare Brand Management Group (MHBMG), offering strategic guidance to smaller companies. His consulting work introduced brands like Route 66 Sodas, Keeper Springs, and Zico Coconut Waters, as well as the first meatless vegan jerky, Primal Strips. In 2011, he joined Brad's Raw Foods as VP of Sales/Managing Partner. At the time, sales were $3.5 million, all from direct sales. He created a national distribution and broker network, raising monthly sales to $1.5 million before leaving in September 2014. In 2014, Michael became Executive Vice President of Sales at Living Intentions, where he developed a core product list and established a national broker network. In 2019, he joined Ingrilli Citrus as Vice President of Sales, creating a go-to-market plan for the U.S. market. This led to substantial container shipments and partnerships with major chains like H.E.B. and Hy-Vee, achieving $500,000 in first-year sales that expanded to $3.5 million by 2022, with projections for $5 to $6 million in 2023 through major distribution. After his tenure at Ingrilli, he sought to work as a fractional Chief Sales Officer/VP of Sales, etc to support brands such as Poshi, Polenghi/Dream Foods, Living Intentions, and OMG! Pretzels.
