About
Serial Entrepreneur and Marketer with 10+ years of experience leading go-to-market strategy, growth initiatives, and digital transformation across healthcare, SaaS, and education. Mercedes knew she had a thing for marketing when she would be on the home computer (using dial-up) designing graphics and printing business cards while in elementary school. She evolved when she was a state finalist, and a top contender for selling ads in a national pageant (National American Miss) in high school. Being able to walk across stage, and speak to thousands of strangers builds confidence early . That ambition and passionate spirit followed her to college (Hailstate) where she interned at a planner company, and was able to sell ads to local businesses, resulting in her flying for the first time to Delaware to sell with other top selling college students across the U.S. and being the only representative from Mississippi. She even got to have a photo she took of her school as the planner cover for the next year to come. Before deciding to major in marketing Mercedes did a work study job for a few semesters in the Biomedical engineer department, brewing as a marketer learning about medical research techniques (prevention of college athletes getting concussions), sparked how she could still bring heart to the business world. When she did know for sure, she was a marketing major (right after being accepted into engineering school), her professors set her up for success, allowing her to become a student leader (president of National honor society), intern for the athletic department in marketing (SEC) and she launched her first startup (member of entrepreneur club) senior year from a class project. Mercedes definitely made her mark, and history when she pitched and won first place in the e-commerce competition being the first female non-engineer major to win first place securing seed capital. It’s safe to say, Mercedes was destined to be an entrepreneur all along with that visionary mindset. Staying positive, and building relationships led her to traveling across the U.S. and Europe to work with business owners needing to leverage their digital presence. Currently Mercedes is an adjunct professor in marketing, still contracting, and bringing businesses to market. To connect directly email Mercedes@i3clicks.com
