I’ve been doing enterprise sales long enough to have seen the game change completely, many times over. Right now, AI is rewriting the rules faster than most people can adapt — how buyers research, decide, and what they expect from salespeople. What worked last year, last month, last week, stops working. Sometimes overnight. Maybe you don’t notice until you’ve lost three deals in a row and start questioning everything you thought you knew, watching your target disappear over the horizon. I’ve been there many times, and it’s a rough place to be. It’s fixable — not with hacks, but by understanding what’s changed and how to think differently. Once you stop defending what used to work, you can open up to what will work now. That’s why I built The Mentored Edge, a space to think through what’s happening — and what to do about it. It’s for sales athletes: professionals who know quick fixes don’t cut it and are willing to examine how they operate. The focus is on sharpening judgment, building clarity, and developing capabilities that hold up when the rules keep changing. It’s built on decades at the front line of sales and over a thousand mentoring relationships across demanding environments — tech, industrial manufacturing, IoT — places where decision cycles are long, buyers are sophisticated, and staying clear‐headed separates decent performance from elite. It also led to Your Sales Mind, the first AI‐driven coaching system built to learn how you sell — guiding, challenging, and developing sales professionals in real time. It’s the next evolution of mentoring: human insight amplified by intelligent technology. It follows my book, The Evolution of a Sales Mind, capturing thirty‐plus years of thinking on psychology and performance. It’s not about tactics — it’s about how you think, how others think, and why that matters. I also work one‐to‐one with a small number of senior professionals. Real mentoring, not a set program — honest assessment of blind spots, real‐time input on live deals, the kind of straight conversation that’s hard to have with people who have a stake in telling you what you want to hear. It’s the mentoring I wish I’d had at several points in my career. I didn’t always have it, and that’s partly why I do it now.
