I spent ages 5–21 in a swimsuit, competing at a high level and eventually earning a scholarship at THE Ohio State University. These days, swimming is one of my "third spaces" -- where I find connection and engagement with other swimmers. 2. I racked up three college degrees but married someone with zero. It turns out I value curiosity, drive, and constant learning more than a piece of paper. 3. I grew up in Hawaiʻi, where culture and community shape everything. The spirit of aloha is real, and it’s a big part of who I am. 4. I didn’t discover soccer until I was 26, and I haven’t stopped since. My footwork may be questionable, but I’m convinced it’s improving (see #2 on continuous learning). 5. In a perfect world, I’d live on a sprawling piece of land filled with dogs, mini pigs, talking birds, goats, and a tortoise—basically my own little menagerie of happy chaos.
