Overview

I have a passion for engineering, physics and generally knowing how things work - I like to think that's where most engineers start off. Here are 6 quick facts about me and what I do. 1) I am a passionate engineer but have also had a career in commercialization of software, director at Dassault, VP at Altair, commercial head for an AI startup 2) I launched Fine Physics because I am convinced there is a better way to do things than the current physics/AI software model 3) I relocated to the USA from the UK, out of a $30B industry, USA is roughly 30% of the whole market! 4) I have done busin

About

I have a passion for engineering, physics and generally knowing how things work - I like to think that's where most engineers start off. Here are 6 quick facts about me and what I do. 1) I am a passionate engineer but have also had a career in commercialization of software, director at Dassault, VP at Altair, commercial head for an AI startup 2) I launched Fine Physics because I am convinced there is a better way to do things than the current physics/AI software model 3) I relocated to the USA from the UK, out of a $30B industry, USA is roughly 30% of the whole market! 4) I have done business across a number of regions including Europe, Japan, S.Korea, India and USA, cultures may be different but as engineers physics is always a common language. 5) I understand what is possible and what is NOT possible with 3D AI, I do not talk about LLMs (e.g Chat GPT) but focus on ML/AI applications for 3D engineering or physics prediction. 6) What I do falls into two catagories: A) Helping companies find a low risk way of implementing this new 'AI' technology (Not LLM's) B) Helping amazing startups/scale ups with identifying where their product fits in the engineering market, what problems it could solve quickest and how to bring it all to fruition. This is a longer bit of my background. Starting off in engineering, then bridging to the commercial side of software gives a unique perspective on how software tools are there to solve problems for engineers. Importantly Andy knows nothing can replace an experienced engineer who knows their product, physics or AI tools are just enablers for the engineer to do this quicker or more thoroughly. I am experienced in creating strategic GTM initiatives, sales AND technical team management/mentoring, international account management, business development and channel management.
